A romantic night on the town turns tragic for doctorate student WARREN BYRNNER and his
fiancée when they are hit by a drunk driver. When Warren wakes up from a coma six weeks later,
he learns that the accident killed his fiancée and left him partially brain damaged.

To learn to live with his new handicap, Warren is placed in an transitional home for
semi-sufficient mental patients. He hates it there. He hates the staff, who treat him like he's a child.

he sees in his apartment, which his doctor insists are just part of his disability.

AMY, his next door neighbor, a sweet but dim girl, insists that the previous tenant, TYLER,
vanished under mysterious circumstances. She asks Warren to help her find him. He learns that
Tyler was a recovering drug addict who was evicted when he starting using again. It seems like a pretty clear cut case, but little by little, the "official" story starts to fall apart.
