A romantic night on the town turns tragic for doctorate student WARREN BYRNNER and his
fiancée when they are hit by a drunk driver. When Warren wakes up from a coma six weeks later,
he learns that the accident killed his fiancée and left him partially brain damaged.
To learn to live with his new handicap, Warren is placed in an transitional home for
semi-sufficient mental patients. He hates it there. He hates the staff, who treat him like he's a child.
He hates the other patients, who are all more deficient than him. And he hates the strange visions
he sees in his apartment, which his doctor insists are just part of his disability.
AMY, his next door neighbor, a sweet but dim girl, insists that the previous tenant, TYLER,
vanished under mysterious circumstances. She asks Warren to help her find him. He learns that
Tyler was a recovering drug addict who was evicted when he starting using again. It seems like a pretty clear cut case, but little by little, the "official" story starts to fall apart.
Why won't anyone talk about Tyler? What is the strange stain in the bathroom that won't go
away? Why do Warren's visions become more intense and disturbing with each passing day?
What is the mysterious legless apparation that haunts him, leaving cryptic messages behind?
Convinced that there is more going on than the staff are telling him, Warren digs deeper,
uncovering the terrible truth about Tyler's death. But he needs to act quickly - Tyler's restless
spirit is growing bolder, taking control over Warren's fractured mind. Once Tyler gets a second
chance at life, Warren may never get it back...
