In the not too far future, mankind has colonized the planet Crucia with the aid of a native race, the Kageshi. But as promises of a better life on Crucia have deteriorated into high poverty levels and public malcontent with the policies of the Terran government, a resistance has risen, supported by a small band of Kageshi renegades and led by a human known only as "Solomon". "The Voice," as
the resistance calls itself, speaks for human rights and government reform, but their demonstrations have gone from peaceful to violent and they are now considered terrorists. Regel Shaw, a young
man who joined The Voice with dreams of a better future stumbles onto a discovery that could
expose the Kageshi for what they really are. Six years later he awakens with no memory of where
he's been or what he's done after witnessing this event. In the custody of the Crucian Security Covenant, Regel finds he's the prime suspect in a series of assassinations and is labeled a terrorist.
But most frightening for him is that his DNA has been altered to sustain a Kageshi strain, giving
him heightened senses, reflexes, and other abilities he does not comprehend. Neither Regel nor the Covenant can figure out why the Kageshi would alter a human this way. After escaping the
Covenant, Regel seeks out Solomon for answers. As his investigation intensifies, he will
discover the depths of his new abilities and why the Kageshi chose him. Thus he will uncover
the secret of the aliens' own past which they have kept from the human populace. Manipulated
from all sides of the conflict, Regel will struggle with his own culpability to determine who he is
as a person, what cause he truly believes is just, and carve out his own destiny.
